| Dalila Anderson had childhood dreams of becoming a farmer. Though not a conventional career path for a city girl born and raised in the heart of Washington, DC, it seems that this subconscious yearning to create and grow things implanted a fundamental understanding of how she perceives life and measures her achievements. Dalila graduated from the renowned Parsons School of Design in New York City, intensively studying design marketing, fashion design, world art history and sculpture.|
While at Parsons, Dalila interned at Bureau Betak where she contributed to the staging of fashion events and shows for top designers showcasing their collections for New York's Fashion Week, such as Donna Karan, in addition to Victoria's Secret's annual fashion shows. After graduating, Dalila then ventured into the business side of the fashion industry, working at the North American public relations and marketing department for French crystal brand, Lalique. There she learned about the inner workings of high-end design and branding. As her career developed, she moved into the design arena where she worked as an apprentice to a Park Avenue designer of women's ready-to-wear clothing. Utilizing her knowledge of fashion design and distinguished event staging, Dalila began a high-profile era of her career, as a wardrobe stylist working with several iconic recording artists and celebrities including Missy Elliot, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, and Jay Z -- to name a few.
Today, Dalila works on her own and serves as creative director for other up-and-coming design and fashion companies. But prefers to simply call herself an artist because all the things she has ever wanted to do involve creating in some shape or form. Though she can add work as a celebrity wardrobe stylist, graphic artist, fashion director and designer, among other things, under her belt, she prefers to work without choosing a specific title that limits what she can create. Aside from designing and creating, Dalila continues to travel and develop new and interesting projects, concepts and products in order to keep pushing the limits of her title and repertoire as an artist. Dalila currently resides in Manhattan.
